Pendulums – 7 Simple Steps For Beginners

Ever wanted to try your hand at Divination? Here is a easy step by step guide to do just that!

1. Choosing your pendulum. This can be as easy as making it yourself or buying one from a shop.  A pendulum is simply a heavy object suspended from a string, cord or chain. Typically Pendulums have a gemstone as the base, however as long as you feel a connection with your pendulum you can use whatever you would like.  We have some amazing pendants for sale on our shop! 2. Always use your dominant hand. This is the hand that you use most often or the one you write with, most pendulums come with a ring or bead at the end of the chain. To hold your pendulum grasp the bead between your thumb and index finger, the chain should hang without tension.
3. Learn how to read it. When you get your pendulum and you are comfortable holding it, ask your sprit guide to direct the pendulum to which way is yes and which way is no, keep note of the direction.
4. Clear your mind. Before you start to test your pendulum, take a few mins to clear your mind, find a quiet space away from distractions and noise.  You can use a variety of different centring methods, choose whichever works best for you.
5. Basic questions. Start with basic questions, there is no point in rushing and asking serious questions when you are still learning how to use your pendulum. Ask questions which you already know the answers to such as: “Is my hair green?” once you have an answer follow it up with a question that is true, such as: “Is my hair brown?” Once you feel you have mastered these simpler steps you can move on to serious questions.
6. Practise! This is like anything new you put your mind to, you need to learn how to use it and become aware of how it works. The more you practise, the easier it will be to use.
